Los Angeles-based designer Courtney Small grew up in California. She went to college in Paris and then graduated from UCLA with a degree in Art History. One of her first jobs after college was Collectibles Buyer for Ralph Lauren, Beverly Hills. She then became the Womenswear Buyer and worked for the company for seven years. In 1994, Courtney moved to New York to work for Allure Magazine as a fashion editor. In 1998, Allure brought her back to Los Angeles as its West Coast Editor. By then, Courtney had begun working with private clients as a personal stylist. Her clients trusted her taste implicitly and began asking her advice on their homes as well. Courtney turned to Interior Design full time in 2003.
Florian Schaugg grew up in Germany. He studied under Vivienne Westwood at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and graduated with a Master of Arts under Helmut Lang. During his time in Vienna he also acquired a Masters degree in Economics from The Vienna University of Economics and Business. Florian worked with Helmut Lang in Vienna for a number of years before moving to Los Angeles in 1999. He worked as a Product Manager for World Industries until he joined Courtney’s growing design company in 2005.
